Many existing tracking devices already use Satellite based Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) cellular technology to locate a vehicle / asset and report it by sending a text message over the cellular phone network. MicroMet's technology is unique as it uses GSM with the internet based GPRS technology. This allows the tracking and reporting of vehicle and asset position data through the Internet any where in the world at extremely low operating costs compared to our competitors.
